Jencarlos Canela, born April 21, 1988 in Miami, Florida, is a Cuban-American singer, model and actor.
Canela started his artistic career at a very young age as a child model, and in school plays. Not mentioning all the opportunities that he took in family gatherings; where he performed songs that were the delight of young and old.
At the age of 12, Canela enters professionally in the world of music as a lead singer of the group "Boom Boom Pop". After two years of successful participation with the group, he decided to start his solo career in late 2002. The next 5 full years have been filled with learning and unforgettable experiences for Jencarlos, who has carried his music to the stages of very important international events such as "Miss World 2004 and 2005" beauty pageants, "The Latin Fiesta Festival" in Toronto Canada, "The CALLE OCHO Festival" in Miami, among others.
This charismatic artist was named in 2006 as the young image of "Voice for Children", a nationally recognized institution that helps mistreated children. He is always is willing to collaborate with this type of causes. Proof of this is his constant participation as a singer in several events in recent years organized by The League Against Cancer in the United States.
His impeccable youthful image captured the attention of important multinational companies, as was the case of the prestigious car maker Ford, who chose him as model and song author for its "Ride it Like a Ford" ad campaign.
It was in 2008 that Canela made his first foray into acting when he landed his first starring role in one of Telemundo NBC Network prime time soap opera "Ídolos de Juventud." In addition, Telemundo television network also offered him the lead teen role of its new soap opera "Pecados Ajenos", where besides performing the main theme of the show, he plays "Alfredo Torres" Affectionate, noble, good son and good brother.
